Red Ribbon Week
Skaggs PTA is excited for this year's Red Ribbon Week: "Life is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free."
Dress up days & Activities:
Monday - Jumbled Puzzle Day: Wear mismatched clothes.
Activity- An art contest where students create posters based on the theme. We can display the entries around the school to spread the message.
Tuesday - Missing Piece Day: Wear one color, but with a different colored patch or piece of clothing. This visually represents the "missing piece" that drugs can create in a person's life.
Activity- A pledge chain activity, symbolizing that every student is a crucial piece in our drug-free community. In each classes, students write their name on a red paper strip and link them together to create a chain.
Wednesday - Completed Puzzle Day: Dress up as your best self or your future self, as a representation of a solved puzzle. You can dress as your dream career or showcase your hobbies, emphasizing how a drug-free life helps you achieve your goals.
Activity- An interactive bulletin board where students can add their own puzzle pieces, titled “My future is drug free because…”
Thursday - Puzzle Piece Partner Day: Pair up with a friend to create a "two-piece puzzle." They can wear matching colors. This promotes the idea that friends support each other in making healthy choices.
Activity- A special guest speaker (e.g., a community helper, police officer, or health professional) to talk about making healthy choices.
Friday - Kick-Off Wear Red Day: to show support for Red Ribbon Week.
Activity- A school-wide rally in the gym.
