Program Overview: The National PTA Reflections program has inspired millions of students nationwide for over 50 years. Students express their artistic vision around a specific annual theme, advancing through local, district/council, state, and national levels of competition.
Participation Info:
- Eligibility: Open to all Skaggs Elementary students with at least one active Skaggs PTA member in the household.
- Cost: 100% Free to enter.
- Due Date: All entries must be submitted online by October 23rd!
Category Rules: Students can submit original artwork in 6 creative categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Please ensure all entries follow Texas PTA and National PTA guidelines for formatting, size, and composition. Visit National PTA's Craft an Entry page for category-specific rule sheets and detailed requirements.
Submission Process: Submissions are accepted digitally! Brainstorm your ideas and submit your final work using the online Student Entry Form button located at the bottom of this page or click HERE
Review Criteria: Entries are evaluated by independent judges using standardized scoring rubrics. Judges prioritize Theme Interpretation (how well the artwork and artist statement reflect the theme) alongside originality and technical creativity.
Next Steps: After the October 23rd deadline, entries will be evaluated by local judges. Selected entries will advance to the council/district level. We will announce results and celebrate all student participants at our school award recognition event later this school year at a school rally. Advanced entries will continue on through to Plano ISD Council PTAs then to state and national judging rounds, if advanced.
